Questions and answers
Can I use MyGalaxy without a phone number?
Yes. You create a MyGalaxy account with a username of your choice (8 characters or more) and a PIN. No phone number and no SIM card are needed. You can add a phone number later if you want friends to find you, and you can hide it at any time.
Is MyGalaxy free?
Yes. Chats, voice and video calls, groups, channels and status are free, with no ads. We take no card details today. Optional paid extras for businesses may come later, and they will always show the full price before you pay.
Is MyGalaxy end-to-end encrypted?
Direct chats, groups and voice and video calls are end-to-end encrypted by default: text, photos, files, voice notes, places, polls and reactions. A small closed lock shows it. Public channels, stories and calls with a guest link are not end-to-end encrypted, and they show an open lock.
How is MyGalaxy different from Telegram?
Telegram needs a phone number to sign up, and its normal chats and groups are not end-to-end encrypted; only one-to-one Secret Chats are, and you must turn them on. In MyGalaxy, direct chats and groups are always end-to-end encrypted, and you sign up with a username and PIN.
How is MyGalaxy different from WhatsApp?
WhatsApp encrypts chats end to end, but it still needs a phone number to create an account; its 2026 usernames only hide the number from other people. MyGalaxy needs no phone number at all, shows no ads and does not sell your data.
Is MyGalaxy as secure as Signal?
Not yet, and we say so plainly. Signal is open source, independently audited and changes its keys with every message (forward secrecy). MyGalaxy uses strong standard encryption, but forward secrecy and an independent review are still planned. MyGalaxy's strengths are free sign-up without a number, channels and communities.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Install MyGalaxy on your new phone or open app.mygalaxy.global and sign in with your username and PIN. Your 12-word recovery phrase, shown once when you sign up, is your backup. Keep it safe: MyGalaxy never shows it again and cannot recover it for you.
Which devices does MyGalaxy work on?
Android phones (Google Play) and any web browser on a computer or phone at app.mygalaxy.global. The iPhone app is coming to the App Store; until then use MyGalaxy in Safari. One account works on all your devices.
How many people can be in a MyGalaxy group?
Up to 2,000 members, and every group message is end-to-end encrypted. When someone joins or leaves, the group gets a new key, so new members cannot read old messages and people who left cannot read new ones.
Where is my data kept?
Your data is secured in encrypted mode. Messages in direct chats and groups are locked on your device before they are sent, so only the people in the chat can open them. MyGalaxy never shows ads and never sells your data.
Who makes MyGalaxy?
MyGalaxy is made by TRANSMONY Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 14513482. You can reach us at info@transmony.com or in the app under Settings, Help and feedback.
